To a Problem of Constructions Sites Flooding in Yakutsk

The environmental conditions and anthropogenic factors responsible for the increased saturation of foundation soils in Yakutsk are considered. The results of pumping tests conducted at a representative site with localized man-induced cryopeg development are presented. The feasibility of pumping as an effective soil dewatering method is demonstrated and discharge values are proposed. It is substanciated that geotechnical site investigation programs should include field tests to determine soils filtration characteristics.
