Editorial Policy
"Arctic and Subarctic Natural Resources" is a scientific journal issued in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It was founded in 1996. Founders of the journal are main scientific and educational institutions of the republic – the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Yakut Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science, North-Eastern Federal University and profile ministries – Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The priority directions of the journal are publications on the arctic questions covering the main subjects which the research institutes situated on the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) work out.
Results of the activities of all scientific potential of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are reflected in the journal. Works of young research associates, post-graduate students, candidates for a doctor’s degree, and also articles of authors from other regions of Russia in the fields of Earth sciences, biological and technical sciences devoted to study and scientific ensuring of the further development of the Arctic and the Subarctic are published.
The work is conducted on drawing the leading scientists of the country and from abroad into the membership of the editorial board and on expanding the geography of authors. Profile reviewing of entering papers is conducted and the principles of double blind reviewing are adopted.
Now there are 33 members of the Editorial Board and Editorial Council who gave a written consent to participation in work of the board and the council including: 3 academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 8 corresponding members of the RAS, 1 academician of the Russian Academy of Education, 17 doctors and one candidate of sciences, three foreign experts in the field of Earth Sciences, biological and technical sciences working in the Arctic and Subarctic regions.
Existence of the regional scientific journal included on the List of Reviewed Scientific Editions for the large academic and higher education scientific community of the republic is an integrating factor and a tool allowing to publish in due time and on a grant basis new scientific results, promoting scientific studies and training of effective researches.
Priority Directions of the Editorial Policy:
- publication of scientific articles, reviews, messages on the following three branches of sciences including 5 groups of specialities mainly devoted to study of the Arctic and the Subarctic region and elaboration of the scientific foundation of development of the Russian sector of these territories:
- Earth Sciences; Technical Sciences (Materials Science); Biological Sciences (General Biology, Physical and Chemical Biology).
- timely publication on a grant basis results of basic and applied scientific researches of staff of scientific institutions and higher education institutions of the republic;
- expansion of the geography of authors, publication of collaborations of scientists of the republic, Russian researchers and foreign authors;
- assistance to development of creative communications of scientists of the republic and scientific institutions and higher education institutions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries;
- organization of "double blind" review process by experts of the corresponding scientific profile (candidates and doctors of science).
- observance of the publishing ethics focused on the international standards, provisions developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE); standards of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation and Copyright law of the RF.
- increase of public prestige of scientific activity, strengthening of relationship of science and education;
- the journal is addressed to general scientific community, teachers of higher education institutions, graduate students, students, culture and education workers.
